Hello there, My name is Mary Muthoni. I come from Kenya currently living in the United Kingdom, Leicester for my studies at  De Montfort University International College for my International Year Foundation zone. I love taking photos, so I chose to do a photography project in the Digital Arts module. Photography is a true lifelong passion, capturing moments in terms of images is interesting. I learned valuable lessons from my mother who made tough decisions as the leader of the family to give us a better life. I have always followed my own advice: be curious, be a constant student of my surroundings, seek perspective from others and build relationships.

 

Apart from photography, I love playing soccer actually that's my talent. Soccer keeps me active, fit, and lively. After completing my foundation year at DMUIC I plan to join De Montfort University (DMU) to do Media and  Communication for my continuation route. Media and communication is a broad program, but as for me I will specialize in photojournalism; this is a form of journalism done through collecting, editing, and presenting news material for publication or broadcast that employs images to tell a new story.
